Status of the ITER ECRH&CD control system development

The ITER ECRH&CD system is designed to inject 20 MW of millimetre-wave at 170 GHz into the vacuum vessel. composed many sub-systems, namely High-Voltage Power Supplies (HVPS), Gyrotrons, Transmission Lines (TL), Ex-vessel Waveguides (EW), Launchers. It role EC Plant Controller (ECPC) integrate all Sub-system Control Units (SCU), prepare for operation and execute real-time requests coming from plasma control system. level protections are also implemented by ECPC, in charge ensuring safe plant, while optimizing power availability. While protection functions always pushed lower possible controller able implement them, operational requirements flexibility make it impossible fully segregate functions, since each gyrotron connected least two different launching mirrors. To simplify SCUs’ development respect responsibility boundaries imposed procurement strategy, involving more than one sub-system which exposes a single interface towards Central I&C. status presented this work.
